How To Stop Negative Thoughts
Negative thoughts are not only reserved for depressed people. Everyone has experienced them at least once in his/her life
Many times negative thoughts are just wandering around in our heads: “This is hopeless,” or “I’ll never get this right,” or “what’s the point”. Those automatic negative thoughts are “embedded” in our subconscious and unless we delete them completely they will keep coming back to us like a boomerang.
Different ways to stop negative thoughts
There are many ways to delete negative thought from our subconscious: Hooponopono, The Sedona Method, etc.
The other day, looking at my book shelf I have found another helpful method to challenge compelling, negative thoughts. As always Steve Flowers´ and Byron Katie´s books were helpful (for more information click on the image below). This simple technique consists on asking yourself 4 simple questions:
- Is it true?
- Can you absolutely know that it’s true?
- How do you react when you believe that thought?
- Who would you be without that thought?
Try this out now…
With this simple practice you come to realize that many thoughts are just programs that are replaying in our subconscious; and that they are not true. So releasing, those thoughts is crucial to gain inner peace and happiness.
As you can see, sometimes it doesn´t take much to stop negative thoughts. Just simple tools.
And you? What do you do to stop negative thoughts? Please share your thoughts, stories and questions below. Your interaction provides a living wisdom for us all to benefit from.
