Release Emotions Holding You Back: Preoccupation
Many people think that it´s difficult to release emotions that are limiting them. One of those limiting emotions is preoccupation.
There are many people that just can´t spend even one minute without finding a cause to think that something bad is going to happen to them. These people who worry so much forget that worrying doesn’t help at all, doesn’t change a single thing.
Why Releasing Emotions Is Important
Mark Twain said that he has “known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened”. Can you relate to this statement? Most of what we worry about never happens, and the time we spent worrying was time and energy wasted.
Look at the picture and understand how simple it is to release emotions and stop worrying. Well, I hope you are not one of those who reject the idea just because it´s too “simple”. As Lester Levenson said, “Absolutely everything is simple. Any complexity in life is the ego trying to undo the simplicity of reality”.
“Pre – occupation” – Meaning
The word “PRE – occupation” means just that: “state of occupying beforehand,” something previous to occupation, to action. So, does any “pre-occupation” give any positive outcomes? I don´t think so…
Most of the things you’ve worried about have never occurred! You´ve wasted so much time and energy! And what is worse, you suffered in vain!
Talking is cheap, so instead of talking how preoccupied you are, take action. Despite of fear, doubts and discomfort.
“Yeah, but what if…?” –Mind´s Favourite Question
Well, do you really think that when you are preoccupied and worried you can think with clarity and find the best solution to a problem? I don´t think so. Carrie Ten Boom said that “Worry is like a rocking chair—it keeps you moving but doesn’t get you anywhere”. So, the next time you catch yourself worrying, think about this picture, and understand that being preoccupied gets you nowhere. It doesn´t serve you, doesn´t help you, it´s just a waste of time…
What do you think about it? Is it really that easy to release emotions holding you back? Can you stop being preoccupied easily? Share your comments and opinions below.

Nelida, OscarZ and Mary Anne,
Thank you all for your very inspiring quotes.
Many people make themselves unhappy simply by finding it impossible to accept life just as it is presenting itself right now. (Neale Donald Walsch )
Great quote Mary Ann.
And my favourite quote is from D. Kent: A man ninety years old was asked to what he attributed his longevity. “I reckon,” he said, with a twinkle in his eye, “it’s because most nights I went to bed and slept when I should have sat up and worried.” (Dorothea Kent)
I like Mary Hemingway´s quote: Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything.
Thnks!
I totally agree that being preoccupied gets you nowhere. It doesn´t serve you at all, doesn´t help you. What is more, you accumulate stress that undermines one´s health.
Thank you for your posts. Very inspiring
